2022 National Landscape Architecture Awards: Regional Achievement Award

Albury Skate and Active Recreation Precinct by Playce

Speaking directly to the needs and desires of the local community, Albury Skate and Recreation Precinct has provided a widely popular active hub. With a focus on inclusive and flexible spaces for activation predominately by young people, the bold and exuberant design maximizes the opportunity for risky play in a safe environment. Strategic lighting, generous shade and the considered arrangement of passive and active zones and path networks provide optimal comfort throughout the day and evening as well as across seasons. These features also provide abundant intergenerational opportunities for recreation, promoting healthy lifestyles and community connection, and enticing visitors from the wider region.

Albury Skate and Active Recreation Precinct is located in Albury, New South Wales on the land of the Wiradjuri people.
