2018 National Landscape Architecture Awards: Landscape Architecture Award for Small Projects

Immigration Museum Activation Project by Rush Wright Associates

Jury citation:

This project provides new seating that is carefully integrated with existing trees to create much-needed resting spots. The configuration of the benches allows appreciation of the existing architecture and uses the shade of the trees to create new spaces that are welcoming and enticing. The materiality makes an eye-catching, joyful statement with well-executed colour and textural interest. Beautiful photographs and Instagram posts show that the project has been embraced readily by the community.
