Creative directorate for 2023 Festival of Landscape Architecture announced

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has appointed Lyndon Slavin, a senior landscape architect at Aspect Studios; Tanya Court, creative director of Tanya Court Projects; Scott Hawken, director of the Landscape Architecture and Urban Design programs at the University of Adelaide; and Gemma Kleinig, landscape architect, City Design at the City of Unley, as the creative directorate for the 2023 Festival of Landscape Architecture to be held in Adelaide.

The 2023 edition of the annual festival will be themed “Un/Earth” and will examine the elements and life below and within the earth’s surface. It will explore various aspects and practices involving the subterranean across disciplines, including the world of soils, fertility, geological strata, subterranean infrastructure, mineral excavations, fossil records, archaeology and enduring practices for living on Country.

As in previous years the festival will also feature the presentation of the 2023 National Landscape Architecture Awards.
