2024 Australian Urban Design Awards: Commendation in Leadership, Advocacy and Research – City and Regional Scale

Macquarie Park Innovation Precinct – Stage 1 by AJC Architects with Tract Consultants

Jury comment

Macquarie Park Innovation Precinct – Stage 1 provides a model for evolving a twentieth-century single-use office park into an exemplar of contemporary innovation precincts, anchored by research, technology, health and various innovation-oriented enterprises. The compelling masterplan deals with multiple land owners and provides clear, flexible strategies to deliver a new layer of public domain. This government-led rezoning of a state-significant economic hub would retain and grow knowledge-based employment within a high value metropolitan location while also delivering on a progressive urban agenda focussed on Country and urban design excellence.

Macquarie Park Innovation Precinct – Stage 1 is located in Macquarie Park, New South Wales on the land of the Wallumattagal clan of the Dharug Nation.
