2019 National Landscape Architecture Awards: Landscape Architecture Award for Civic Landscape

Malop Street Green Spine by Outlines Landscape Architecture

Jury citation:

Malop Street Green Spine in Geelong is a shining example of how traditional retail streets can become inviting public spaces during the day and at night. The jury celebrated the project’s inclusion of intimate spaces not often seen in streetscape design and commended its water-sensitive urban design measures. A horticultural connection to Johnstone Park and Geelong Botanic Gardens is established through the use of Indigenous and exotic species. Malop Street champions inclusivity, vibrancy, community and the natural environment.

Location: Geelong (Vic)
