2018 National Landscape Architecture Awards: Landscape Architecture Award for Parks and Open Space

Rockhampton Riverside by Urbis

Jury citation:

This project provides a new focus for Rockhampton, helping to reconnect the city to the river with a sequence of hard and soft landscapes connected in one seamless pedestrian environment.

A variety of scales and types of landscape provide flexible social spaces that invite multiple uses and stimulate outdoor activity. The high-quality materials and detailing and the successful integration of art, technology and play create a vibrant, robust urban waterfront. The project will bring long-term economic benefits to the local area.
