2018 National Landscape Architecture Awards announced

The 2018 National Landscape Architecture Awards were announced by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) on Thursday 11 October on the Gold Coast. The ceremony, held at the SkyPoint Observation Deck, was the first major event at AILA’s 2018 International Festival of Landscape Architecture: The Expanding Field. The awards recognised 38 winners over 14 categories, celebrating leading projects of all sizes across Australia’s regional and metropolitan areas.

The awards reflected the fundamental role landscape architects play in advancing the health and wellbeing of our communities.

“The awarded projects are sensitive, thoughtful and ambitious responses to repairing and improving our Australian landscapes. This is of critical importance at a time of increasing urbanisation and climate change,” said AILA National Awards jury chair Sara Kjaersgaard.

The jurors for the 2018 awards were Sara Padgett Kjaersgaard (chair), Sharon Mackay, Paul Herzich, John Watson, Sarah Chalkley, David Warwick and Mark Gillingham.
