Jungyoon Kim (South Korea)

Keynote speaker – Landscape Australia Conference 2018

Jungyoon Kim is a founding director of PARKKIM, a Seoul-based landscape architectural firm practising beyond the traditional boundary of the profession. She received a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Agriculture from Seoul National University. Kim was selected as the “Design Leader of Next Generation,” awarded by the Korean Ministry of Commerce (2007). She worked at West 8 and taught at Wageningen University (the Netherlands) before she founded PARKKIM with Yoonjin Park. She was appointed as the Visiting Design Critic at Harvard GSD (2018) and the Glimcher Distinguished Visiting Professor by Knowlton School of Architecture, Ohio State University (2011). Kim won an Invited Design Competition for the park system for Gwanggyo New City (2008) and has been appointed the design commissioner for the city. She was also appointed the Public Architect of Seoul by Metropolitan Government of Seoul (2011).
